Dr Xavier De Moor
Certificate of Advanced Training in interventional psychiatry
Dr Xavier De Moor, former chief resident at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV), is a specialist in adult psychiatry and psychotherapy. Trained in Strasbourg and then in Lausanne, it was in the department of old-age psychiatry (SUPAA) that he developed his particular focus on biological and interventional psychiatry.
He provides psychiatric assessments for adults and older adults, targeted interventions, pharmacological adjustments and short- or long-term follow-ups, and participates in interventional treatments in collaboration with the other LCIP specialists.
His pragmatic approach, focused on delivering effective and timely care, draws primarily on the cognitive-behavioural model.
For anaesthetic treatments for psychiatric indications (ketamine infusions, dexmedetomidine, nitrous oxide) and electroconvulsive therapy, the Centre for Interventional Psychiatry collaborates with Mobile Anesthesia Care, whose team is based in the same premises. Founded by Dr Giovanni Gaggero and Dr Nicolas Vasey, the team comprises board-certified anaesthesiologists (FMH) and nurse anaesthetists with extensive experience, including with patients suffering from psychiatric or neurological disorders.
